The book of the day

Today, I read a book: Girl With a Pearl Earring by Tracy Chevalier. I did not own it until noon today, nor was it something I ever planned to buy. I found it at the used book sale on campus for three dollars. Then I sat down with it at work, ten minutes after I bought it, and opened it, thinking I would read for half an hour and then do some homework. Instead, I read for the entire three hours, not even noticing when my shift was up until the girl who worked after me came in and set her bag down in front of me. The book was that engaging. It's not a literary masterpiece, but it is a story that I couldn't put down. Read it, if you've got the time to spare. I finished it in about four hours.
