psychosomatic, psilly, or just plain psick?

I didn't get to sleep last night. I dozed a little bit, but not actual sleep. It was frustrating enough that I was almost crying because I was tired but I just couldn't seem to fall into a deep sleep. I hate it when that happens, and it's happening more often lately.

Also, I've been having these really crazy, migraine-type headaches off and on for the past week or so. It was bad enough yesterday and the day before that I went home and laid down in my dark bedroom to try and make it go away (which helped, after a couple hours). It's the sort of headache that's a sharp, insistant pain right behind my eyes (usually just one, either left or right), and it makes me super-sensitive to bright light and loud noise. Ibuprofin helps a little bit, but doesn't make it go away. I've had these before, and I'm not sure whether to call them migraines or what, but I usually only have them maybe once every couple months, for one day, and then I'm fine. This past week, however, I've had at least two major ones and a few minor ones. Also, my neck and shoulders have been really stiff and tense, which is probably adding to (or even causing) the problem, despite the fact that I don't feel particularly stressed right now.

So... am I getting sick, or are the pills I'm on screwing with my head, or what? I've got an appointment with the doctor in a week, so I'll talk to him about all this then.
