Yup, it's that time of year again. The day before Lent starts--Fat Tuesday. I used to take this all rather seriously, you know. Now, not so much. But I'm still a big fan of Mardi Gras.
I mean, how can you not love a crazy celebration that comes at the tail end of a season that calls itself "The Feast of the Flesh" (Carnival)? Mardi Gras is church-sanctioned revelry in the finest "give them an inch and they take New Orleans" style. Drunkenness, flashing, shiny beads, parades, garish colors, masses of people all gathered together to celebrate their own debauchery one last time before a season of deep introspection begins.
Now... I need to find me some beads.
