Owie?

Bad news: I think I screwed up my ankle somehow. Walking hurts. Stairs hurt like hell. It has done this before, tho. It might even be better by tomorrow morning. My muscles/tendons/joints are screwy sometimes.

Better news: Brigit's Cross is awesome. And I'm not talking about drinking there (tho I've been assured by other that that is also awesome). I went last night with a few guys I know and treated myself to a delicious Reuben, homemade chips with malt vinegar, pink lemonade, and a dessert of warm bread pudding with vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce. Absolutely divine.

Classes started on Monday. I've got Philosophy of Non-Violence, Myth, Web Design for Content Writers, and International Film. And my senior project, which isn't so much a class as it is a credit I get for writing on my own time. It's focused writing, dedicated to a purpose, but writing nonetheless. My favorite pasttime. Things seem to be going pretty well with the other classes--it looks like a lot of work at first, but it really isn't.

Books I'm reading for classes right now include George Orwell's 1984 and Stephen Mitchell's new English translation of Gilgamesh, as well as texts for Web Design and International Film. I haven't read 1984 since I was in 9th or 10th grade; still, I'm surprised how much I've forgotten about the book, and thrilled by the bits that I still remember. I don't think I really understood it in high school, and now that I'm reading it again and seeing how much my view has changed it makes me want to reread some of the other things I read in high school so I can see them with new eyes. I bet reading Kerouac's On the Road would be a trip (haha).
