I came back to my room this afternoon and found a message on my voice mail, asking me to fill in at Birch Hall for a girl who wasn't able to work today. So I called and this afternoon I went in to work for three hours.
The verdict: I like this job. It's bloody easy. I get to sit behind a desk with a computer (no internet yet, tho... darn), read my assignments and whatnot, and occasionally get up to help someone or make change or something. And I earn $7 an hour starting. I spent about an hour with my boss going over all the stuff I need to know. She's nice, too. In the other two hours I got some reading done, helped about four people, and more or less just relaxed. And tried to beat the advanced level of Minesweeper on that computer, but I'm a little rusty so it might take me a while.
It's been raining all day today, which I love. I'm the sort of person who will purposely walk in the rain to class because I like it so much. Of course, once I got to class today I realized that it's not a good idea to walk into a computer lab dripping wet, so I ran to the bathroom to at least dry off my arms and hands.
Now I'm tired. I didn't sleep so much last night (we had a fire alarm go off at about 1 in the morning and I was still awake for it). So I think I'll take a short nap. And then finish the homework. Yech.
