I'm sitting here contemplating my blogs and wikis project proposal, and I'm getting sorta stumped. I've got a topic: poetry. But what in the heck do I want to do with it? Right off the bat I realize that my project can't solely consist of my own work because the poetry I write is usually in the 10 lines or less category. However, I'd like my own work to be a part of it, anyway. Also, I can't fathom doing a project that would rely heavily on user feedback (as in, a poetry workshop or something), because it's absolutely NOT certain that I'll get any feedback at all. So what does that leave me with? I'm not sure.
I've got a couple of conflicting ideas. On one hand, it would be rather interesting to use my blog to discuss other blogger poets and their work. Lord knows there's no shortage of people who write and post poetry on their own blogs. I've got a few of them linked in my sidebar. Or why limit it to blogs, even? There's other internet poetry venues out there; why not take a look at them as well?
On the other hand, it might be kind of cool to look at poetic forms, especially those that are either new or rarely talked about. Maybe I could focus on styles and forms that are developing now, and the contemporary poets who use them?
Maybe I could combine all three ideas, but how in the heck do I make the project cohesive as a whole then?
Hm... writing all these ideas out does help somewhat. Anybody have any suggestions, comments, questions, etc.?
