My sister e-mailed this article to me today. Quick summary: the police in Paris found a full cinema, bar, and restaurant setup in an off-limits area of the Catacombs. It had electricity and phone lines and everything. When they went back a few days later, the lines had been cut and they found a note warning the police not to try and find the people who had set the place up.
Reminds me of stories of the "mole people" that supposedly live in abandoned subway tunnels or sewers or whatnot underneath New York City. It's just a fascinating thought: a whole society that lives underneath a major city. Good plot for a movie.
