I was just reading this entry on Downward Facing Life, and after reading the associated article about the prison experiment, I can't even think of a reaction. That's just so insane. I guess I'd always figured that those sorts of potentially damaging psychological experiments were illegal.
The one other thing that it made me think was, although they talked quite a bit about how the prisoners reacted, there wasn't as much mention of how the guards took on their roles and reacted to the immense power they were wielding. We are told about their actions, but not so much about the psychology behind them. Power is such a strange and dangerous thing in the wrong hands... yikes.
