To Know God
Consider the rock
on which I have placed
the man.
Consider the rock
  a lined face filled
with dewdrop sweat
and rain.
Conisider the rock
  welted with stripes
of mountains
that grasp at stardust.
Consider the rock
  a prolific bomb
slowly exploding
in blossom.
Consider the rock
  shaped by hand
or magic,
or coincidence.
Consider the rock
to know the man--
Consider the man:
he knows.
