Back at the gothie's room...

Yup, I'm here again... still no internet hookup at home (maybe later this week), so I'm borrowing Erin's computer again while she's out. Also waiting around for friends to show up. I hope they figure their way through the road construction. It's complicated. And muddy.

In the meantime, I have been reading Charles de Lint's Dreams Underfoot and am very impressed. I love his writing style. I love his stories--so original and magical and believable. I have one and a half short stories left to go. Then someone else needs to read this. Simon, if he wants it, and then Erin. And then on to The Onion Girl for me (another Newford book that I picked up this weekend).

I have so many books to read right now that it's insane. At least I've got things to keep me busy.

Alicia's wedding shower was yesterday, as was Nate's birthday. I was so happy to see those two. I miss them a lot. It's going to be hard when they're both in Georgia.

Actually, I miss a lot of people. It's hard to be away from all my friends for these three weeks. Being able to come visit is wonderful, but then I always know that I have to go back to my parents' house sometime, and that's difficult. Not because I don't love my parents and not because I don't want to spend time with them, but because it's not home. This, here, right now in Bemidji, is home for me. It's not perfect. But I know people here, I know the town, and I don't feel so out of place.

Meh. Maybe it's just me being all neurotic or something.

That's about all for the update. I hopefully get to move into the apartment on June 1st. 'Til then, updates will be sparse. Just a warning.

Dude, that was an awesome weekend! If I don't catch you on IM then check the pics we took over the weekend. Will be back out to visit in a few more.. but my parents are planning some vacation to Mexico (just dropped it on me when I got home) June 9-13, so it might have to be pushed back to four weeks if you don't mind.

Anyways, here they are! http://photobucket.com/albums/y279/quietharm/
