Night Owl Blues

Well, this is aggrivating.

I'm stuck in a cycle of nights of "can't sleep" and days of "can't do anything BUT sleep." I laid in bed for a little over an hour, got frustrated, decided to get up, and now I'm freakin' wide awake. At 2:30 in the morning. With class tomorrow at 10. And a sinus infection that just won't give up (feeling a little better, but I still SOUND like I'm sick).

The weird thing is, I don't have any good reason to be unable to sleep right now. I'm tired, I'm not worried about anything, I had a pretty good and largely uneventful evening. I got a nice walk in today (went down to the lakeside and got some awesome pictures, which I'll sort through and maybe post a few of tomorrow). So what the heck?

I actually had this same problem because after we moved here and I wasn't working right away, I couldn't get my schedule adjusted to Nate's daytime schedule because I was up watching TV all night. I talked to my doctor about it because it started interrupting my life, and he told me to take Unisom a couple times a week. I was really worried about taking a sleeping pill (actually, I straight-up told him that I didn't want to), but he assured me that I won't take it every night (which can sometimes lead to addiction), and Unisom is so gentle, he prescribes it to his pregnant patients. So I took it. Every few days for a couple of weeks. And it helped. Of course, you should always talk to your doctor or nurse before starting to take sleeping pills (had to throw that in there, ya know).

If you don't want to go the sleeping pill route, use good ol' NyQuil. That sh*t's the bomb, and we all know it. It's just a matter of getting your body back in sync with your schedule and the daylight hours. Trust me, it sucks terribly for right now, but you'll get it back.
